Course Description:

This class teaches the student how to create accessible Microsoft Office Word and Adobe PDF documents. Students will learn how to test these documents types for accessibility and Section 508 compliance. At the completion of this class, students will also learn how to remediate inaccessible documents of the type above through numerous hands-on use case scenarios. This class is a requirement for the Odellus Section 508 Subject Matter Expert Certification and prepares the student for that certification exam.

  1. Developers interested in creating compliant and accessible Office documents.
  2. Testers tasked with verifying and documenting the accessibility and compliance state of Office documents.

Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat is required for this course. Prior experience with programming languages is not required.
